Abstract: 
The reaction of Ru,(H)(CO),(MeCCHCNMe,), having an allyl moiety u-T bonded to the triruthenium frame, with diphenylacetylene yields Ru,(CO),- (PhC,PhMeC,CH,NMe,), containing the 1-(dimethylamino)- 3-methyl-4,5-diphenylpentadiene ligand coordinated to an intact triruthenium triangle. The organic ligand acts as an overall 86 donor to the metal triangle via u-T metal-carbon bonds and a u metal-nitrogen bond.
